Bitch Planet #1 (2014)

I have to admit that I am torn by this book. At first glance, it seems to be something I would immediately jump on-board with. I mean prison planet, girl gangs, violence, dystopian future ... Holy 1980's B-movie, Batman! My main problem is the fact that this books seems off. I can't put my finger on it, but this book has a creepy feeling that you can't shake. Maybe it is the government portrayal or the "I don't give a rat's ***" attitude by the general population in the story that's weirding me out. But I believe that was Kelly Sue DeConnick's intention when writing the story. Definitely a book to pick up, with the running commentators and the surprise twist with the husband! Just be ready to have that weird all too real fog float about your brain.
