Daredevil's Chip Zdarsky is different then every other book's Chip Zdarsky. This Zdarsky has a Zdark side that doesn't have much in the way of comic relief. His Matt Zmurdoch has killed someone, is a bit of a bed bound homewrecker, and isn't really up to the challenge of doing the right thing at the right time.
That puts him in a tight spot when he needs to save a cop from a bunch of cop killing cops (who have killed a cop and look to do so again). While the depressing stuff is all fairly well written and Zmatt is navel-gazingly introspective, we're here in this Zreview because of Jorge Fornes stepping in from out of nowhere to draw this issue. You might remember him from his stints on Batman with Lee Weeks. He's a perfect choice to get all of this gritty crime grittily drawn. He'd be a good fit for the long term on this title, but I think he's destined for bigger and better thingZ.
