BONUS REVIEW by PASTOR SAM

As much as I was looking forward to the Shadowland series on the basis that it would be a bunch of books about Daredevil, or heck, at least have Daredevil in them, the last six months have been about everything but the titular character. It’s hard not to feel a little duped. As Kurt Cobain quoted in his infamous suicide note, “it’s better to burn out than to fade away”, and it would seem the latter is exactly what happened to Daredevil through the events of Shadowland. That being said, if you have to squander the chance to have the character go out in a blaze of glory, you won’t find better than you do here. The writer again does a fantastic job of bringing the supporting characters to life to the point that I had actually forgotten that he was both the writer on this and Shadowland. Likewise, the art is exactly what should have been on every book in the series thus far – in a perfect world. To the creative team’s credit, it’s clear that they did the best they could with the directives handed down from editorial and the main book ended up being not nearly as good I’d hoped, but much better than I expected.
