THIS SUMMER, THE DEVIL IS REBORN. RENEWED. RESSURECTED. With new enemies, new friends…and that same old 'grinnin' in the face of hell' attitude, The Man Without Fear is back in a double-sized first issue and leading with his face! Mark Waid (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, Irredeemable, RUSE) joins neo-legendary artists Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin for a new spin on Daredevil that will leave you gasping for air. Having turned his world upside over the past several years, Matt Murdock realizes that justice may not be blind to his past and villains may not be the only ones looking for answers. Bring it on. If Matt Murdock could see what he was doing…he'd be terrified. 40 PGS.

BONUS REVIEW by PASTOR SAM

t calls for an incredibly talented creative team to take a character that was seemingly beyond redemption and to bring him back to the place of former glory. Daredevil #1 brings just such a team in Waid, Rivera, and Martin. There is just not enough space here to share everything there is to love about this book. The writing is top notch, if wordy at times (a 2nd read is recommended and worthwhile) while the art is the cleanest, most beautiful devil-art seen in over a decade. The color palette is bright and fun, as though by comparison to former work, someone has walked into the room and turned the lights on. For an introductory issue, the story does a great job laying out who the character is and what he does, as well as introducing some fresh challenges and obstacles for our horned-protagonist to overcome. Though Matt/Daredevil has made many mistakes particularly in the last 10 years, this book should be an encouragement to all who read it that even when we don’t think others will ever forgive us, we can at least find a way to move forward and forgive ourselves.
