Decorum #1 cover a

This is a giant, sprawling bit of world building by Jonathan Hickman and Mike Huddleston. So sprawling, in fact, that I'm quite sure I don't have a grip on it after three reads. This is ostensibly a book about space assassins, specifically a properly mannered space assassin. She doesn't turn up until the second half of the book. The first half is a tale of colonialism and conquest that seems to own no connective tissue to what follows (with the exception that they are both in space).


Why the glowing review then? I trust Hickman with this kind of material. He's done cosmic before, and done it well. Mike Huddleston's art ranges from Ashley Wood loose to fully painted beauty from panel to panel, but seemingly with a purpose. Oh, and the text pages. It's Hickman, so there have to be text pages, right? There's a geometric text page here that is just a list of salad options that is better than at least three titles by the big two this week(if that's your bag).
