VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
Written by Paul Dini Art by Dustin Nguyen & Derek Fridolfs Cover by Nguyen
Fan favorite artist Dustin Nguyen (SUPERMAN/BATMAN) joins Paul Dini on DETECTIVE COMICS as new regular penciler! Still haunted by the specter of Ra's Al Ghul, Batman returns to Gotham to face a new threat in the form of The Globe, a map-obsessed mastermind who charts his crimes with deadly accuracy.

"So how is it that, after seven relentlessly awful ‘Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul’ issues, co-architect/co-conspirator Paul Dini manages to not only put together a really killer Batman story, but he did it using RA’S AL GHUL. The same character he, Grant Morrison, Peter Tomasi and Fabian Nicieza spent seven agonizingly long issues writing horribly? What the hell? Well, call it a rare moment of clarity on Dini’s behalf, but he did indeed write a great Ra’s-centric story, as The Demon’s Head decides that instead of some far-off mountain to sequester himself, maybe Gotham City might be more enjoyable. Surprisingly, Batman’s not too keen on that. It all leads to a well-done confrontation that fails only in that it concludes too neatly, too quickly. But if that’s the price to pay to avoid a 14-part ‘Reresurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul’ follow-up, I happily pay it."
