BONUS REVIEW by SHANE WALLACE

Jonathon Hickman and Dale Eaglesham's run on Fantastic Four has been steller. If you are not reading this title, it is a must! Long time fans, or readers who have never read a FF comic book, have all been hooked into Hickman's vision of the first super hero family, bringing the cosmic back into the book but keeping it realistic and relevant that only Hickman can deliver. Eaglesham's art work is an instant classic, using new color techniques on top of his throw back style that any Alan Davis fan should appreciate. Their first story arc "Solve Everything" was absolutely brilliant and only 3 issues long to give you a taste without the huge commitment Marvel usually likes to employ. Fantastic Four #573 is a one off story that follows Ben and Johnny trying to get some R & R but (of course) are instantly involved in saving an entire planet. The twist is that Reed and Sue's children smuggled along and are trapped in a dying world. But with Val's heightened intelligence (she reveals that she's already far more intelligent than Reed) the world may still be saved yet. If you are a long time fan who hasn't read FF in a long time (probably since Mark Waid) or new to the title, this is Marvel's best ongoing series that's not mixed up with any of the events or confusing cross overs. Plenty of action and family fun. Hickman nails the personalities and breathes life into these 45 year old characters, while Eaglesham draws them with such perfection (Johnny and Sue actually look like brother and sister for once). I could go on and on about this book but give it a shot, I did and now its at the top of my stack, even on an incredible week like this one was released on!

I give it 10 out of 10 Grahams
