BONUS REVIEW by SHANE WALLACE

Putting aside the fact the Free Comic Book Day Avengers issue and all the other FCBD Marvel issues are under sized, Marvel spared no expense bringing this all star team together. Brian Michael Bendis as writer, who is pretty much in control of the Marvel Universe, and “Young Gun” artist Jimmy Cheung whose work is not to be missed! So its no surprise that the story itself is written really well through the narration of Spider-Man, and the art work is top notch. The Avengers FCBD issue is great for catching any reader up on whats been going on in the Marvel U after the Secret Invasion. There are two Avengers team, one that we all love and cherish, and another government sponsored team run by Norman Osborn with the help of Bullseye, Venom and other Marvel villains. The comic is a fun one-shot read that would get any fan hooked to the many Avengers titles that come out monthly. The only down fall is that’s it not for younger kids. On the cover says “Teen Plus” which they are correct, there’s a few swears and you might not know what’s going on if you read the “All Ages” Marvel Adventures titles. It’s shame too, because the cover has Thor with the rest of our favorite heroes exploding from a bolt of lightning. With a cover with Cap, Wolvie, Spidey, and again Thor, most kids are going to go crazy getting their hands on them, their parents just might not want them to.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
