There's (at least) two ways to look at this series: 1. It's a travesty because the argument presented for even existing is based on a moral falsehood. Superman would never think a personal tragedy was more important than anyone else's. His reaction to the death of Lois is therefore disproportionate at best when compared to his reaction to the death of any other person the Joker has murdered. He's just a big baby if that's the case, and becomes a criminal, equally as guilty as the Joker. That's not my Superman, and hopefully not yours either. 2. This is not the real DCU, so you totally just have to go with it, and does that version of it work? That answer is pretty much 'yes', so we go back even after we don't agree with what we're reading. Tom Taylor does another fine job plausibly setting up more events that could never ever ever actually happen, building to a point where people will finally get to see either Superman or Batman kill the other one. This, of course, is something we hope to be able to read about all of our heroes, right? Perhaps Marvel can put out a book where New York City Firefighters finally take on the Police once and for all.(Still...it is pretty good. Great Ollie moment in this one. Check it out...but keep it quite, ok?)
