What if? Savage Sword of Conan was smaller and more colorful? It would look quite a bit like this stand alone issue. It's an insanely mixed bag, featuring some surprising creators and a collaboration from Roy Thomas and Steve MJcniven that looks a whole lot like 1974 if you squint hard enough. Throw in stories by the likes of Claremont and Eastman and you've got a swell book that will satisfy any random Conan craving you might have. It's the one-shot that truly proves the more things change, the more Conan stays the same. Highly recommended for those who want to see a beefy dude fight wizards, witches, and monsters. Just like 1974.
