While vaguely reminding me of a popular book/movie series, Alisa Kwitney's story has a lot
going for it. Most of the main characters are long established in the DC Universe going back to pre-New 52 and that includes the instructors so older readers keep your eyes peeled. Enough new characters are thrown in for good measure. And the plot point that one of the students will become evil and basically destroy the world as we know it, works well in this context. I am especially appreciative that one of the new characters is named PLOP! after the DC Comics series of the 1970's. My only problem with the book is that it is aimed at a more youthful audience. The first day of college shenanagans is appropriate but not as entertaining to us over 50 crowd. However, this minor gripe doesn't hurt the enjoyment of this book.
