As Thor ventures further beyond the walls of the Shining City into Midgard, the sinister Loki begins to tip her deceitful hand. In spite of her promise to reform since being restored to life by the God of Thunder, Loki’s insidious moves against Balder, Thor, and the rest of Asgard start bearing poisonous fruit. The reinvented THOR builds to unbelievable heights, by writer J. Michael Straczynski (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) and Olivier Coipel (HOUSE OF M)!

REVIEW by Brian Fisher

By far the most sentimental issue of this series so far, issue eleven grants us a moment of silence in more ways than one. Taking a step back from the larger picture, this stand alone story, for the most part focuses on Thor and Captain America’s friendship. On the one year anniversary of Cap’s death, Thor takes a sabbatical from Asgard to pay his respects to his fallen friend, leaving Balder in charge, and leaving Loki free to drop poison in his ear. More than anything this is a story about friendship and camaraderie, mirrored in the goings-on in Asgard and at Cap’s grave. This issue has been a long time coming, and no matter the length between issues, it seems as soon as I finish an issue all is forgiven for the delay. This series, its writer and its artist are some of the shining examples of quality over at Marvel.

I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams
